I want to try and have more greens in the morning. People say it’s good to add them to smoothies. Well I tried that. To me it..it’s disgusting. I haven’t tried putting an avocado in them though….hmm. If you have a delicious green smoothie recipe let me know and I’ll try it! I have tried so many that I have just about given up. I did find one at a Smoothie bar in Georgia. I wouldn’t call it a smoothie though, it was more of a juice. That was pretty good! I would also get wheat grass shots from there as well. Believe it or not it wasn’t too bad! My husband about threw up though. The trick is to drink it all in one gulp. Anyways, back to this beautiful morning avocado sprout toast. Look how beautiful that color is.
Avocados are my best friend right now. Trying to eat more of a plant base diet while breastfeeding can be tough. So I’ve been eating alot of Avocados. Avocados have good fat in them that help to keep up my milk supply. Every time I eat them my daughter comes chasing after me (crawling like a squirrel to an acorn). She is in LOVE with avocados. I don’t think I gave my boys avocados when they were little. I don’t know if it was because they weren’t as popular as they are now or I just didn’t think to give it to them. But, they are a great choice for the little ones.
Now, it may look like I just went outside and grabbed some clovers out of the yard and placed them on top of the avocado but, I did not. Though, I am thinking I may have to grow these in my garden this summer! These are Organic Snow Pea Microgreens that I got from Whole Foods. They also had a sunflower one that I am going to try next. So why did I add these Microgreens to me toast? They are full of Vitamin C, beta-carotene, Vitamin E, and Vitamin K. What a good way to start your morning!
Another Delicious part of these toast is the bread itself. I LOVE THIS BREAD! It is my all time favorite bread right now. I just can’t seem to get enough of it. It’s called Dave’s Killer Bread Good Seed. If you have not tried it you must!
I really like eating this healthy avocado sprout toast in the morning because first of all it tastes amazing and second of all it actually fills me up, and lastly when I make a good food choice in the morning that gives me a lot of nutrients it helps me to make good food choices the rest of the day.
